Q4: Do you make them to order?
A: Over 80% of our work is made to order. Our tolerances are so fine we make flags and banners for large organisations requiring measurements to be within 2mm. Of course we also make flags for all sorts of venues and events. Specific finishings, eyelets, cords, clips, ropes, dowels, ties and Velcro. Whatever the finish, we provide it.

Q5: What is the smallest number I need to order?
A: One

Q6: What is the maximum number I can order?
A: As many as you need, given enough production time to deliver.

Q7: What are they made of?
A: Flags were originally made from feathers by the Mayans and Incas. Through the centuries flags were made of cloth and these days we make them from Polyester. There are over 20 Polyester materials to choose from. Some indoor, some outdoor. Please describe the intended usage to your consultant and they will assist you to choose the right one for your project.

Q8: Can my flag have the same image on two sides correctly reading?
A: Digital printing is least the expensive option for this result. The fabric is called DUET and has a block out material compressed between the fabric. It allows us to image two completely different images, or the same image reading correctly on either side.

Q9: Does the flag have a headband?
A: Usually, unless requested otherwise.

Q10: Does the flag come with flag clips to attach to my flagpole?
A: Yes... ready to fly.

Q11: Is the flag colour fast?
A: In all types of printing and fabrics. We recommend gentle cycle cold wash, with just a dash of powder.

Q12: Will the flag last 10 years?
A: No. Most cheap flags imported will last 1 - 2 months. Flag manufacturers promote their flags to last 3 - 6 months. It depends on the weather conditions over the flying life and also which method and material you choose.

Q13: Can I wash or dry clean my flag?
A: Yes. However, be warned, just like your clothes, if you put bleach into the wash it will take the colour out. We recommend gentle cycle cold wash, with just a dash of powder.

Q14: Is my flag repairable if the ends are tatty and fraying?
A: If the flag is fraying... send it back to us. We will wash and repair the flag. This usually assists the flag to fly for the same length of time again.

Q15: What is the cost?
A: We wash and dry and repair the flag for $15.00 + GST + post

Q16: Can you guys wash/clean my flags?
A: Yes. We have a dedicated large industrial washer and a gas fired oven to dry them.

Q17: Do your flags resist Ultra Violet UV rays?
A: The material we buy is coated with UV inhibitors and the ink has UV blockers in it.

The sun is a solid enemy to all things external and flags are not exempt.

Q18: How long before the flags fade in the sunlight?
A: Usually around 3 months the flags start fading. There is an international scale to which we conform called the Blue Wool Scale. Our flags have been independently tested to rate 6 on this scale. 10 being invincible and 6 being the highest for flag performance.

Q19: Will they withstand a hurricane?
A: Yes, for around 5 minutes. The clips are then designed to fail so as not to cause damage to the flagpole. The headband cotton will stretch and snap, and then the flag will fly off into the "never never". Please remove flags when anticipating large storms. You don't leave your washing on the line, so bring your flags in too. They will last much longer.

Pricing

Q80: Are SCV the most expensive in the market?
A: No, and neither are we the cheapest. We believe in quality products and sometimes the ingredients just costs a little more as the result lasts a little longer, or the colour, fabric or manufacturing skills are better. We know this as we've been selected for the "big events"... World Cup Rugby, The Olympics, World Cup Soccer, Government contracts including the Army, Navy and National Capital Authority tenders.

Q81: Is SCV the cheapest?
A: Please refer to the FAQ above

Q82: Would you stand up to a tax audit for GST?
A: Yes. Our last one was 17th September 2004 from the Penrith Office Of Taxation.

Q83: Are your prices fair for the market?
A: Tough question. We think so. We put a lot of love and effort into our work. The results have flown and been displayed throughout Australia for 6 decades. We don’t advertise very much, except a few ads in magazines. People generally have heard of our work or are referred to us from other happy clients.
