Support Batons
Support batons may be of wood or fibreglass dependant upon the requirement outlined in the specific Tender. All batons are to be affixed by first creating a sleeve the same colour as the fabric onto which the baton is to be attached. This sleeve is to contain the baton and must affixed to the fabric on all sides by dual stitching. Once the sleeve has been stitched to the larger article, the baton may be inserted and then sealed into the sleeve for safety. The baton should be locked in place by way of nylon wind surfer baton clamps or similar. Wherever possible the baton and sleeve should be attached with heavy-duty cotton to ensure the sleeve does not free itself from the larger article. The acceptable material for this sleeve should be Dacron or similar, or polyester material similar to headband material.
